Viewer Feedback or News Stuff:

Hi Andy and Amy,

How do you deal with differences in physical limitations when geocaching with friends and/or family? I am pretty much “able-bodied” but my friends are not so much. A terrain of 2.5 is easy for me but too difficult for one of my friends. I haven’t figured out the secret to deciphering the Terrain levels especially when a local cache that requires walking through tall grass and one in the neighbouring town has a steep incline trail are both listed as 2.5. I feel bad when my friend can’t make it to GZ. I also feel bad for finding the cache because I probably wouldn’t get another chance to find it if I called off the search on account of her physical limitations. Do you have any advice?

Thank you,
Paula (pjhugs)

Geocaching Basics – Geocache Sizes – GeoSnippits Reboot Podcast: Ep. 202

HHH, Please show some examples of micro, small, regular, and large containers. Also, I would love some tips on finding small or micro geocaches. I’m a newbie!

Geocaches vary greatly in size and appearance. In the field you will see everything from large, clear plastic containers to film canisters to a fake rock with a secret compartment. So, how do you find the cache?

The first step is to get a general idea of the cache’s size. The size is shown on each cache page. A general overview of the cache size graphic is found below. Please note that these are just examples; sizes can vary.
