SHOW NOTES FOR EPISODE 194
How To Start Geocaching – GeoSnippits Reboot Podcast: Ep. 194

Place to get our geocaches for the day – Geocaches are listed on various listing services. By far the most common is geocaching.com. Others Include:
Opencaching.us
EarthCache.org is all about earth science and teaching people about the world they live in. These earth caches are located in unique and special areas and don’t involve finding a container – it’s all about the journey.
NaviCache.com is the second oldest cache listing site, with the majority of caches in European countries, particularly Germany. You are allowed to post and log caches on both this site and Geocaching.com together. This site has declined in popularity however with the introduction of more user friendly and advanced interface sites.
TerraCaching.com is a cache listing site that focuses more on the quality of caches as opposed to the quantity – any cache that scores below 1.0 on their ‘”Measure of Cache Excellence’ system is automatically archived. The harder the cache you find, the more points you get, giving an alternative system to the ‘smiley’ one of geocaching.com
