GWXIII Quick Tips:
From Brian Cooley:
Travel bugs – Please bring them with a print out of their info sheet (Goal/description), destination, and a baggy when trading
Quart Size works perfect
Download your must do caches ahead of time (the cell towers have not seen this many nerds, I mean enthusiasts, ever)
Planning a route – finding geocaches along the way
Key Geocaching Areas you might want to cache – create pocket queries
Certain “must have” Geocaches you are going to want to find
Allow for the time of actual geocaching in your trip. Going to, coming from and while you are there
Think to yourself – “I have no signal for my cell phone, how can I geocache?” Do this now instead of when you are there.
Load up your GPSr with geocaches
Put as much on your SD Cards as possible – Shows up as POI
Create Offline Lists on your Geocaching Apps
Save your Pocket Queries on a laptop to transfer to your GPSR when needed.
Get information for the Lab Caches before going. These do not come up with the normal app searches.
Libations and Snacks – For the trip and while attending the event.
Prepare for the weather
Watch out for the critters and creepy crawlies – poke it with a stick
Above All a Well Planned Event is usually a fulfilling event. You get out of it what you plan for and adjust as necessary. Otherwise you may miss out on a lot.
Prize 1 – 112: CoinsAndPins.com – The Jasmer GeoChallenge Coin Set
Congratulations To: 2eTango
OUR GSRP Geocaching Poll Of The Week
Here are the results for this week:
The GCDoc is putting out a very elaborate and expensive to build Dr. Who based gadget-cache. He wants to know: Should he put it out as a Premium Only geocache?
Another poll next week – Find them on Google + – get us in your circles
